Festival Workshops

During the DAY program we invite coders, developers, video artists and interaction designers to join our workshop programme. We offer you a chance to work, meet and share knowledge with eachother and three skilled artists/developers from the Netherlands, Ukraine and Spain:

Workshop #1: Twitter messages & openFramewoks by Luca Basile (Hotpixel).
Workshop #2: “Fast approaches in algorithmical sound” by Evgeniy Vaschenko (V4W.ENKO) – with the use of Max/MSP/Jitter.
Workshop #3: Video mapping by Resolume – with the use of Resolume Avenue 4

Costs
Without festival ticket: € 7,-
With festival ticket: € 0,-

The duration of each workshop is in between 1 and 2 hours. A small preparation is needed for each workshop (downloading and installing the software). If you have any questions regarding these workshops – or want to apply – please contact us at call@fiberfestival.nl. Please find details of the workshops listed below. Off you go!

Workshop #1

Workshop #1 – openFrameworks & Twitter
Program: openFrameworks
By: Luca Basille (Hotpixel)

Date: Saturday March 24
Duration: 1 hours 45 minutes
Participants: 6 – 8
Aimed time*: 14:30 – 16:15

Luca Basile is a Barcelona-based openFrameworks developer working for the Hotpixel studio. If you manage to compile a basic example of OF it would be great, but if you can’t manage it’s OK and we can fix the problems during the workshop quickly.

Workshop #2

Workshop #2 – “Fast approaches in algorithmical sound”
Program: Max/MSP/Jitter
By: Evgeniy Vaschenko (V4W.ENKO)

Date: Saturday March 24
Duration: 1 hours 30 minutes
Participants: 6
Aimed time*: 14:30 – 16:00

During this workshop Evgeniy Vaschenko will be showing fast techniques on how to create Max/MSP patches. You will work on:
• realtime building of fast examples of patches for algorithmically automated producing of musical compositions
• communication of all the units of algorithmic structures via the wifi network
• fast creation of a simple orchestra/live structure of laptops, to generate a musical composition fully automated, as well as with a changeable degree of the human factor influence.

Participants could build a collective organism-network of patches which could speak to each other and generate live structures of sound together

About Resolume
Resolume is developed by Edwin de Koning, Bart van der Ploeg, Daniel Berio and Tim Walther with support from Joris de Jong and a hand full of specialized freelancers.
Resolume was born because they wanted to VJ, but they wanted to do it better. They could not find any VJ software that did what we wanted back in 1998, so they started programming their own. And quickly realized their software was much better than others on the market.
