Straight forms and light generate sound. ‘Graphical sound’ is an invention of the early ’20 used for film and the first synthesizers. A beautiful and magical concept but always hidden in a big machine. Mariska de Groot deducts and celebrates ‘graphical sound’ by making instruments, installations and doing performances based on this principle.
Therefore she takes advantage of the purest characteristics and give them room to experience.
